Home learning

Homework

Learning at home provides an ideal opportunity to consolidate the skills, concepts and knowledge that your child has been taught in school. It can be a platform to discover a new area of learning.

Homework is a very important part of a child’s education and can add much to a child’s development. Children benefit greatly from the natural support of parents / carers in encouraging them to learn both at home and at school.

Homework at Greatstone Primary School takes the form of:

  • reading every day at home (at least five times a week)
  • daily phonics in EYFS and Year 1
  • weekly spellings for children in Year 1 to Year 6
  • learning times tables for children in Year 2 and above
  • termly KIRFs (key instant recall facts)
  • A family learning project linked to a topic taught in class termly.

Homework will be set via Dojo, Arbor. SpellingShed and TTRockstars.

Please see your child’s class teacher for login in details.
